Brainwired

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 27, 2026

This policy explains what brainwiredpod.com collects, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. The site is run by PsyZen, Inc. ("PsyZen", "we", "us"). Brainwired is a conversation series hosted by Dr. Burton Tabaac.

The short version

What we collect

When you use the booking form. Your name and email, plus anything else you choose to add: your organization, a date or timing, and a message. We also record which type of inquiry you picked: Speaking, Partnership, Guest suggestion or Press.

If a message doesn't go through. The site shows our email address, burton@brainwiredpod.com, so you can write to us directly. If our form service is ever switched off, the form instead opens your own email app with your message filled in and addressed to us. Nothing is sent until you press send there, and your message then travels through your email provider and ours.

When you subscribe. Your email address.

When you browse. Like any website, our host receives basic technical details each time a page loads: your IP address, your approximate location based on it, your browser and device details, the page requested and the time. We use these only to run and protect the site.

What we don't want. Please don't send health information, diagnoses or details about your own drug use through the form. Dr. Tabaac can't give individual medical advice through this site. See our Disclaimer.

Why we use it

We don't use your information for advertising. We don't sell it, and we don't "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as California law uses that term.

Who helps us handle it

We use a small number of service providers. Each one handles your information to provide its service to us.

ServiceWhat it doesWhat it receives
VercelHosts the websiteTechnical details from each page load (see "When you browse")
Web3FormsReceives booking form messages and emails them to usEverything you type into the form, plus your IP address
Namecheap Private EmailOur email inboxBooking messages and any email you send us
KitStores our email list and sends our emailsYour email address, and whether you open our emails or click their links

Booking form. Web3Forms keeps a copy of each message for up to three years under its current policy, unless we delete it sooner. To block spam, it may send your IP address and email address to its spam filters, CleanTalk and Akismet.

YouTube videos. Episodes and other videos on this site play through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The player doesn't load until you press play. Once you do, YouTube, which Google owns, receives your IP address and browser details and may store cookies or similar data on your device, under Google's Privacy Policy. Google says videos watched in this mode don't shape your YouTube recommendations or the ads it shows you elsewhere. If you'd rather not share that with YouTube, don't press play.

Fonts. The site's fonts come from Google Fonts but are served from our own host, so your browser doesn't contact Google to load them.

Audio clips. Episode clips are stored on our own host. Playing one sends nothing to anyone else.

Links to other sites. When you follow a link to YouTube, a podcast app, a news story or a research paper, that site's own privacy policy applies.

Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no cookies of its own, so there is no cookie banner. It saves one small note in your browser's session storage so the opening animation plays only once per visit. That note holds nothing about you and clears when you close the tab. YouTube may set its own cookies, but only after you press play on a video.

We don't track you across other sites. Apart from YouTube once you press play, no third party uses this site to track your activity over time or across other sites. Because of that, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals don't change anything here. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request not to sell or share your information, which we already don't do.

How long we keep it

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

Email burton@brainwiredpod.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We'll reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm that you control the email address before we act. Making a request will never affect how we treat you.

If you're in the EU, the UK or a US state with its own privacy law, you may have more rights, such as objecting to how we use your information or complaining to your local data protection authority. For people in the EU and UK, we rely on your consent to send you emails (you can withdraw it at any time), and on our legitimate interest in replying to messages you send us and keeping the site secure.

Where your information is handled

PsyZen, Inc. is based in the United States. Vercel, Kit and Namecheap are US companies that may also handle data in other countries. Web3Forms operates from India. If you visit from outside the US, your information may be handled in any of these places.

Security

The site uses HTTPS, we limit who can see your information, and we use established providers. No system is perfectly secure, and email isn't private by design, so please don't send anything sensitive.

Children

This site is meant for adults. Episodes discuss trauma, addiction and drugs. The site isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (under 16 in the EU and UK). If you believe a child has sent us information, email burton@brainwiredpod.com and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, such as using your information in a new way, we'll email subscribers before it takes effect.
